Fun BBQ Facts!

Barbecues have been a White House tradition since Thomas Jefferson.

BBQ is no longer a male dominated activity. While 51% of males cha-cha with the charcoal, 49% of women flamenco with the flames.

The original barbecue sauce, dating back hundreds (yes, hundreds) of years is Vinegar and Pepper.

The National Barbecue Association designates each May annually to celebrate and promote all things BBQ with “MAY IS NATIONAL BARBECUE MONTH !”

So come on down to Slope's before National Barbecue Month is over!

Our customers are talking!

BBQ doesn't get any better: From the bbq pork & chicken to the hot dogs to the sides to the cobblers - all I can say is YUM! And the sauce is to die for.

Great place to take out of town guests to introduce them to real Georgia BBQ!

Robert's favorite

One of my favorite ways to eat a Slope's sandwich is actually by ordering a pork & chicken (white meat) plate.

After pulling the chicken off the bone, I put the chicken and pork on the texas toast for a great sandwich.

Now, for a Slope's Style twist, I usually order brunswick stew and slaw as my side items for the plate and add a spoonful of each for toppings to my sandwich...Slope's Style at its finest!

Catering... done Slope's Style!

"Catering"- a fancy word for a simple thought...bring it to me!

From deliveries for 25 people for a tailgate party to full-service catering at large office parties for up to 2,000 people, let Slope's take care of your BBQ needs! The same great food that you get in our restaurants is available for your home or office party. All of these meals include a choice of two side dishes, bread or buns, drinks, ice, and all paper goods.

This is a "buffet style" meal available for delivery or pick-up.

Here's where we make it Slope's Style...

Our team works with you directly to make sure you have the right quantities and combinations to delight your folks. We've got a little something for everybody. Meats, Veggies and Salads all prepared Slope's Style!

Our goal is simple...make you look like a hero!

Slope's begins!

Bob White, Founder of Slope’s BBQ, began his barbecue venture on Sugar Pike Road in Hickory Flat, Georgia in August 1990 at a two-chair barber shop that had been converted to a take-out breakfast and lunch restaurant.

At the time, he was an insurance salesman and financial planner, but his passion for cooking feasts for neighborhood parties and church cookouts was undeniable. Located at the corner of Sugarpike Road and Unionhill Road in Cherokee county, the doors were open between 11am and 6 pm on Saturday only. The BBQ was gone by 2:00 on the first day he opened. One week later, Bob increased the BBQ volume and still sold out by 3:30. This small, operation left a big impression on Bob’s future career path as clientele strongly suggested he open a full service BBQ restaurant. Lucky for us all, Bob agreed and this start-up allowed him to fine tune his recipes and make BBQ a way of life.

In January 1991, Bob and his wife, Marlene, parlayed the experience on Sugar Pike Road into the full time operation of the first Slope’s BBQ restaurant in Roswell, Ga. Located in an old pizza restaurant location with cramped kitchen quarters, Bob and his colleagues came to know each other well (too well, some would say!) as they shared the White family barbecue specialties.

In 1997, Bob began to spread his concept through franchising and continues to offer this opportunity to qualified individuals that are interested in spreading Slope’s Style to new communities.

Community Involvement

All of us live in the communities we serve so we constantly seek new ways to be a better neighbor. Our approach is to focus on schools, local businesses and community causes/events. We have been involved in events ranging from sponsorships at local high-schools to catering local events for charities. We have no intention of being one of those franchises that spends more time looking for the next location to open, than being part of helping our community grow. It's how Bob got started and how we will always be.

Our belief is that if we take care of you, you'll take care of us!
